Fair Housing Training for NPO Housing Agencies
April 3, 2013 The Fair Housing Council of Suburban Philadelphia is presenting a FREE fair housing training at its Fair Housing Training Center in Fort Washington, PA. The training will take place on Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 10:00am - 12:00pm. This training is for nonprofits, housing counselors and social service agencies that receive HUD funding to operate their housing programs. Participants will gain an increased understanding of the Fair Housing Act as it relates to implementation of HUD funded projects and learn best practices for compliance with Federal and local housing discrimination laws. The training will include an overview of various fair housing topics, including but not limited to:
Review of the Federal Fair Housing Act - Protected Classes - Processing & Responding to Reasonable Accommodations & Modification Requests - Service Animals - Hoarding - Occupancy Policies - Community Rules Addressing Safety - Online Advertising - LGBT Protections in HUD Programs
Attendees will receive a certificate of completion. Space is limited, so please register early. Parking at the training center is free.
